End of Life Ceremonies

When someone we love dies, the ceremony is where we say the truest things. It's where a whole life is held up to the light, in all its ordinary, extraordinary detail, and where the people left behind begin to find their footing again.

I write and lead funerals, memorials and farewells that sound like the person who lived them. Not a script, not a set of readings chosen because they were to hand, but their actual story told with warmth, honesty, and all the room you need for laughter as well as tears. Whatever you believe, however you'd like to mark it, the day will be shaped entirely around them.

There are two ways we can work together:

In addition to the packages below, I also lead memorials, celebrations of life and the interment of ashes — just ask. If you'd like to discuss any of the options available, you can always reach out and we'll find a way forward for your ideas, together.

01

A Celebrant-Led Farewell (alongside your funeral director)

This is for you if you're arranging things through a funeral director, with a service at a crematorium or cemetery. I'll meet with you to really learn about your person, write their ceremony from scratch, and lead it with care on the day. Every word is personal and considered — I simply work hand in hand with your funeral director to make it happen.

02

A Bespoke Farewell (arranged directly, in your own time)

This is for you if you'd like more time, more freedom, and a ceremony with no clock on it - perhaps at a natural burial ground, a family field, or somewhere that held meaning for them. We work together directly, with as much planning as you need, and I'll help shape the whole day as well as the words. This is the right choice when you want the farewell led by what felt true to them, rather than by a timetable.

How we work together:

  1. 01

    HELLO

An initial conversation, whenever you're ready. If you're working with a funeral director, they'll often connect us; otherwise reach out below if you'd like to work directly.

  2. 02

    LISTENING

The heart of it. We take our time over who they were: the stories, the small details, the moments that were most them and what you'd like the day to feel like.

  3. 03

    THE WRITING

I shape it all into a ceremony written entirely for them, and share it with you to refine until every word feels right.

  4. 04

    THE DAY

I lead the farewell with calm and care, holding every detail so you and your family can simply be present.

  5. 05

    AFTERWARDS

A little while later, I'll be in touch. Not to tie up business, but simply to see how you're doing. And if, in time, you'd like a quiet interment of ashes or a memorial to mark things again, I'm only ever a message away.

What's always included

Whichever you choose, every farewell includes:

01

A ceremony written entirely from scratch

Their story, in their spirit, never a template with a name dropped in.

02

An unhurried conversation

Time to gather the memories that matter most.

03

A keepsake to keep

A beautiful copy of the full ceremony, yours to return to in the years to come.

04

Led with calm on the day

I hold the words and the timing, so you can simply be present.

Held with care

Every farewell I lead is written from scratch, carried with calm and shaped entirely around the person you're remembering. You won't be handed a template and you won't carry the details alone — just honest, open pricing from the very start.
